Ok, what would believe…. but I am in needs to get another phonostage. Te older I become the lazier I become and there is no way I would switch those cables form tonearms again. Also, each time I switch the cables the unused cables drops behind my rac...

Contacted PurePower early 2017 and got a money-back guarantee to audition their PurePower+ 3000
Hooked up my Audio Research mono amps and powered on. With the first mono amp on, PurePower started to generate this loud buzz from...

Hello every body, I live in France and I'm new on this forum.I'm thinking to build (some months) a mono big Single Ended amplifier (200-300 watts) made with triodes (IDHT or DHT doesn't matter for me) for outdoor professional audio.Have you got an on...

Adrian, how do you find your TU-X1 after those two month? Did anything changed? Do you observer the same effect on all stations? How about switching it in mono?
I have to say that I can’t be happier with TU-X1. Particularly recently after I sp...

You have identified the tricky parts -the transistion between the front and back horn as well as the throat of the front tractrix horn. A one to one throat with the front horn works best with my coaxials and a short 1.25" straight 'ring' ...

"You need to realise that the physically larger a Transformer becomes the narrower the available bandwidth for a given construction. Due to the need to handle a lot of "magnetic bias" SE Output transformers become very large, physicall...

My local “Borders” in Downtown Crossing always has some interesting music. I have no idea why but they have it all but if I stop by in their small classical section I always fish something “kinky”. Today I pulled of from there a few CDs and among th...

David O. and his son, Igor, open with JS Bach's Concierto in D minor for 2 violins and orchestra, with violinist Rudolf Barshai doing a bang-up job conducting "the orchestra". Of course the Oistrakhs are wonderful, but the "orchestra...

In my search for my own sound of Schubert 9 (BTW I did found what I was looking for) I was listening the Mengleberg’s play from 30. The record I have in a part of a 4 records album dedicated to 80 anniversary of Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. I did n...

Paul, I am no expert on tapped horns but I think the main (40 year old) principle is that you join the back wave of the driver with the front wave, now in order to have the 2 wave fronts meet, the back wave should travel a certain distance depending ...

Approximately a month ago I patterned the horn on the other channels and I have to admit the “tweak” is working. It feels as it acts as a sonic defogger minimizing some stray HF dispersions from MF channel. Generally the effect is positive but not hu...

The demonstration of the WE equipment was impressive as was looking closely at how these horns were constructed. The arrangement (originally it would have been mono) was to provide the audience seated both in the stalls or circle with an evenly bala...

This weekend I visited a friend of my in NY who played to me his playback. I need to say that I did not care too much about his playback and visited him as I like him not his audio adventure but the Sound of his playback did surprised me. It was not ...

Very good idea, I like it. I had the similar idea but liseniing you I think I come up with better then I had before idea how to compare the results. This is not so simple question. I am sure one can just listening the samples but I think this is what...

"Given" correct pitch, timbre, weight and scale, the crux seems to be balancing available color saturation, color range, articulation and "force". Getting this "right" is what I have referred to as the "matrix", and when the "critical mass" is a...

SPU alright! White/Blue and Red/Green should carry identical signal so either pair will do.
The advantage of the SPU Mono is, like with the DL-102, you need have no worries about damaging stereo pressings.

I use my SPU Mono in 282 Micro’s arm with AU wand that was specifically made for the SPU cartridges. I run it 3g, not-oil-damped into SU2,so, the SPU sees ~60Ohn. I tend a slightly overload the typical MC cartridges and run them at 60R-75R of thier “...

marknoir, I have a lot of feedback in direct emails regarding to my “hate of Koetsu”. What I conceded that there is a different between Andrian’s version of “lash but slight noney-dripped” sound and my version of “dull sound”. They have the same name...

I play a lot of LP recently and last night I noted that sound was quite bad. It was like a bad electricity day only atop of it sound has some kind of odd digitalization atop of everything. Of course I was blaming the PurePower 3000 but then I realize...

It is exactly what the “End of Life” means – you know all necessary answers and have no needs to prove anything to anyone. I heard from you before that you do not like 834PT’s sound, I presume that it was ether bad 834PT, or extraordinary-horrible st...

I too believe that "reproduction" has nothing to do with my audio experience as there is nothing to reproduce. There is so much missing in any recorded signal that the "original" geometry can not even be close to restored. At best, we could create a ...
